Holistic Well Being (Counselling) Forum Events

The Department of M.Sc.Counselling & IQAC school of social work, Roshni Nilaya, Manglore of conducted a four hours Capacity Enhancement Programme on the topic “Build bridges not walls: Nurturing social relationships' '. Facilitated by, Anusha, Jusaira, Adarsh, Nasreena, Saphia, Raksha, Prathiksha, Ilhaam and Sneha, II MSc Couselling students on 27 April 2023. The 82 UG final year students of School of Social work, Roshni Nilaya, actively participated in the session.

The objective of the session was to build skills towards positive relationships among peers, developing the attitude of gratitude among the participants, to equip the participants with skills of compassion and altruism, and to enhance personal skills to be an effective group.

The facilitators conducted an assessment to identify participant’s level of altruistic, compassion, positive relationship and gratitude behavior.The facilitators trained the participants with mindfulness, empathy, gratitude, ways of expressing gratitude towards others, engaging in pleasurable activities, and techniques to enhance altruism. Barriers to form effective groups and ways to overcome team work skills that are essential for academic and professional success. The group members were able to relate to the content presented and shared their experience. The outcome of the session was that the participants understood the importance of maintaining good relationship in their personal life and learned how to develop gratitude, altruism and compassion towards self and others.
