An extension activity on the topic “problem solving” was organized by 14, 2nd MSC counselling students in LINK integrated rehabilitation centre for 30 members undergoing rehabilitation in addiction at Bajal, Mangalore on 31st October 2023 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
The objective of the session was to help the members to understand the importance of problem solving and to enhance the problem-solving skill among members to help avoid future relapse or bad lifestyle choices. The facilitators initially discussed what problem-solving is, what the different problem-solving skills are, and how problem-solving could help the members in their lives and trained the members with four different ways of problem-solving skill by dividing the members into dyads and triads. The group members were able to relate to the content presented and shared their experiences.
The session was concluded with a creative feedback session. The outcome of this session was that members of the group understood the significance of effective problem-solving and various skills used for problem-solving.
