The capacity enhancement session on Team Work was facilitated by 13 students of second year M Sc Counseling, School of social work Roshni Nilaya on August 19th 2024, from 11.45 am to 12.40 pm. 86 students from the BSW department of the School of social work Roshni Nilaya participated in the session
The session aimed to enhance effective communication, foster strong relationships, and develop problem-solving skills within team members. It started with an icebreaker activity where co-leader narrated few sentences of a story and members continued the story to build rapport and encourage creativity. This was followed by exercises like "Presentation," "Guided Path," and "The Riddle Relay," each highlighting the importance of clear communication, trust, fostering relationship and teamwork. Members also took part in SWOT analysis as a group, learning to recognize their strengths , weaknesses, opportunities and threat as a team.
During the session, members were taught assertive skills such as using "I" statements, finding workable compromises, practicing assertive empathy, and scripting to help build strong relationships. These techniques were highlighted to enhance the effectiveness of team interactions. The session was concluded with a short brief regarding the topic and feedback from the members. The members mentioned that they would be using these techniques in their fieldwork.
