The session began at 9:00 AM and was led by Rev. Fr. Royal Nazareth, with the main focus on Structural Family Therapy. The session started with a brief recap of the previous day's content before delving into key concepts such as boundaries, alliances, coalitions, hierarchy, and their impact on family dynamics. Each concept was thoroughly explained using various case studies. After covering a few concepts, students were provided with a worksheet containing questions designed to encourage reflection on the dynamics they observed in their parents' relationships. Following this, lunch break was provided.
The session resumed at 2:00 PM. The class was divided into smaller groups and tasked to analyse a case study based on the morning's learnings. Rev. Fr. Nazareth provided feedback and valuable insights on each group's assessments. Further, a role-play activity was conducted involving a therapist and a family composed of a single mother, two daughters, and a grandmother in order to allow students to gain a functional understanding of the therapeutic process in practice. The day concluded with a lively hour of fun, allowing students to unwind and enjoy with their fellow peers.
