On the 30th of September 2023, the department of Secretarial Practice, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, undertook an educational industrial visit, meticulously organized by Mrs. Deepika Santhosh, Head of Department of Secretarial Practice, and Mrs. Namratha, Lab Assistant for Secretarial Practice. This enlightening experience was tailored for 16 students of Secretarial Practice.

Our first place was Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers' Union Limited, Kulshekar. Upon arriving there we were warmly welcomed by the dedicated staff. The entrance showcased an array of prestigious awards received by the organization, coupled with product samples that exemplified the quality and diversity of their offerings.

Our guide, Mr. Gadhiyappa, led us through the various facets of the milk production process. We observed the tankers transporting milk that were collected from the dairy farms. We witnessed the intricate processes of milk production and packing, and learned about the three distinctive types of milk produced—Orange, Blue, and Green.

The tour extended to key areas, including the production and packing of curd, the production of Lassi, Buttermilk, Cottage Cheese and an assortment of sweets such as Peda, Mysore Pak, Burfi, Bites, and Laddus. We gained insights into the Flavoured Milk production unit catering to flavors like Chocolate, Strawberry, Pista, and Mango. However, the Cold Room and the Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) were the highlights. Ms. Vishitha from I BA expressed heartfelt gratitude in her vote of thanks and Namratha Madam, presented a token of appreciation, fostering a sense of camaraderie and appreciation.

Our second destination, Emunah Masala Berachah Food Industries in Yeyyadi, Mangalore, who welcomed us with open arms. Mr. Samuel greeted us and provided a comprehensive introduction to their diverse product range, spanning ready-made biryani, various spices and masala powders, and raw Asafetida. We were privileged to witness a preview of upcoming products, including oregano seasoning, salad seasoning, all-purpose seasoning, pasta and pizza seasoning, showcasing the company's commitment to innovation.

Mr. Joshua took over the tour, guiding us through the intricacies of the production process. We gained insights into the roasting, grinding, and mixing machinery, witnessing firsthand the meticulous procedures involved in production and packing. Ms. Afreen from I BA extended her gratitude in a well-received vote of thanks, while. Deepika Madam expressed appreciation through a token of gratitude.

In conclusion, the industrial visit proved to be immensely beneficial, providing students with practical insights into the operations of these establishments. The comprehensive exposure to dairy and food industries enriched our understanding of real-world applications, complementing our academic curriculum.
