The Leo Club Roshni is an active body of the leo club balmatta college under the guidance of the Mentor Ms. Sarik Ankitha. The following students were elected to the council for the academic year 2021–2022:

LEO Club Roshni Balmatta was commenced on 3rd January with an inauguration ceremony held at the Maria Paiva hall of the college. Leo Vernon Chris Pinto was appointed as the Leo President, Leo Sarah Nasir Sheikh was appointed as Leo Secretary, Leo Vikas Nayak as the treasurer and Leo Arnold D’Silva as the Vice President of 174 Leos. Leo Club Roshni Balmatta was inaugurated under the wing of the Lion Club Balmatta and the Leo District 317D.

The cabinet attended a region meet held at the Soorya Woods convention hall, by the Padil Nanthoor club on 10th January 2022.

The cabinet attended a blood donation camp organized at the Dayananda College on 14th January 2022.

The cabinet attended a district cabinet meeting held in Surathkal. It was a first district meet since the installation of the club 30th January 2022.

The Leo Club initiated music class for interested Leos along with help from the Lion President Lancy Carlo 3rd February 2022.

The first meeting of the Leo club was held along with an attendance of 66 Leos 7th February 2022.

The Leos along with the Leo President attended a region meet at the Rangers garden in Surathkal on 5th February 2022.

Leo Club Roshni organized an organ donation camp along with the parent club Lions Balmatta on 20th February 2022.

Leo Club Roshni in collaboration with Rural Development department, initiated a Covid awareness program by organizing street plays in 3 different places in Mangalore city on 17th February 2022.

The Leo club Roshni in coordination with the Criminology department organized a Girl child Awareness program on 14th February 2022. Mr.Hariram Shankar ,IPS DCP,Law &Order,Mangaluru city police was the resource person.

The Leo club attended the District Leo Mett ‘Dil Ki Dastak’ on 27th February 2022. Leo club Roshni Mangalore Balmatta bagged Active New Club Award. Members of Leo club performed a cultural program.

NSS camp was conducted from 20.3.2022 to 26-3- 2022 In Balepuni village of Bantwal Taluk.Leo club Roshni Balmatta had organized a few educational sessions to the campers.On 20th March 2022 the session on 'the role of NSS on building leadership.The guests were Lion Dr.Rameela Shekhar,Lion Lancy Carlo,Lion Vijay Vishnu Mayya.On 24-3-2022 An educational session on 'Organ donation it's importance and awareness'.The dignitaries were Lion Lancy Carlo president of Lions club Balmatta who was accompanied with Semima,Gram panchayat member, Balepuni. The main resource person for the session was Lion Colonel Nitteguthu Sarath Bandary.

The Leo Club Roshni attended the region conference 26th March 2022 and members of Leo Club performed a welcome dance for the same.

Leo Club Roshni Mangalore Balmatta was a part of a Personality development program conducted by the Criminology Department of School of social work Roshni Nilaya on 18th April 2022. Trans model Nayantara and Brand Strategist Carol Reema Pinto were the resource persons for the session.

Model Nayantara spoke about her journey of transformation and how she faces the world with pride. She also addressed the students on various topics Nayantara addressed the students on the issues pertaining to gender equality, normalizing queerness, gender binaries and their impact on society, knowing the identity of queer communities through the lens of transphobic or queerphobic people and facts about pronouns and rebuttals. Brand strategist Carol spoke on how she was always inspired by the way her granny lived and worked very hard. Growing up superficial beauty was something that she was never taught to appreciate. Looks didn’t matter; she was always made to value kindness, confidence, self-esteem and hard work. And she thinks that’s what made her confident in her skin and embrace her flaws as she grew up.

The Cabinet and elected members of the district cabinet attended a Leadership seminar “YOU-Turn” conducted by Lions Club International at Ashok Bhavan Kadri on 7thMay 2022. The ceremony was opened by Leo Kavan Kubevoor and the rest of the seminar was over looked by GLT coordinator, Preetham Ponnappa. It was a very informative seminar which included timed interaction by different resource people.

The Leo Club Roshni Balmatta won the ‘Best Club of the Multiple Award’ on 15th May 2022 at the multiple district Leo Convention- Carpe Diem, conducted by the International Association Of Lions Club 317 at a resort in Goa.

Leo's of Roshni Club Balmatta along with Students of School of Social work participated in 'Child helpline 1098 day' Organized by DK District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Women and Child welfare department, child protection unit and child helpline 1098. 'Child helpline 1098 day ' was celebrated on 17 May 2022 by holding a rally from the DC's office to townhall. The rally was flagged off by the District Commissioner, Dr. Rajendra on 17th May 2022

Awards NITE 2021-22 was organized by the Leo Club District 317D, on 14th June 2022. Leo Club Roshni mangalore Balmatta won the ‘Elite of the Year’ award and the Leo President Vernon Chris Pinto won the ‘Best Club President Runner’. The awards nite took place at the bazar auditorium in mangalore.

The Safar; PST Schooling was held in the Mallikatte Lions Seva Mandir, where the new cabinets members for this year were introduced to each other.

Aiming towards Collective growth And in initiation of difference, Team Avirat had organised a schooling session for the president, secretaries and treasurers of all the Leo clubs of district 317D.

This schooling session titled ' Safar ' embarked a beginning and represented the drive towards Change. Over 60 office bearers of different Leo clubs had attended this event.

The event was presided by district Leo president, Leo Kavan Kubevoor and inaugurated by district Leo coordinator, lion Preetam Ponappa.

Three Leos of Leo club Roshni Mangalore Balmatta were elected as cabinet members for the Leo district Club 317d. Leo Ifra Ayesha as GLT coordinator, Leo Sarah Nasir Sheikh as District PRO and Leo Vernon Chris Pinto as a Zone Chairperson.
