NSS (National Service Scheme) - Events

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Mangalore University received the Overall Award at the state-level Youth Festival 2024, which took place from August 27 to August 31, 2024, at Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ballari. The event was held in collaboration with the National Service Scheme, Youth Empowerment, and Sports Department.

The Mangalore University NSS unit secured the highest points by winning first place in five categories—debate, painting, skit, folk group dance, and group song—and second place in individual dance and third place in the exhibit competition.

Representing Mangalore University in the competition were volunteers Hrishikesh from SDM College of Business Management, Sujay Kumar Shetty from B.B. Hegde First Grade College, Meghna R. Shetty from Poornaprajna College, and Suraksha R. from the School of Social Work, all from Mangalore.

Dr. Sheshappa K., Coordinator of the NSS Unit at Mangalore University, congratulated the winners. The management of the institution, Principal Dr. Sophia N Fernandes, NSS program officer Mr. Obanath & Assistant Program officers Ms. Colin D’Souza & Mrs. Deepika Sanil also congratulated Ms Suraksha R.
