The department of Rural Development organized an exposure visit on 24 May 2022 to Namma Bhoomi (a fit institution for children in need of care and protection and a vocational training centre) and Namma Nalanda Vidyapeeta facilitated by The Concerned for Working Children (CWC), an NGO. Mr Shivanand Shetty, Assistant Director, oriented students on the inception, organizational functions and other activities of the organization. Students gained hands-on experience on poultry, animal husbandry, water harvesting techniques, organic farming, etc while having a tour of Namma Bhoomi. They were introduced to Appropriate Education Techniques based on Montessori Education methods adopted in Namma Nalanda Vidyapeeta as well as on various vocational trainings offered as part of non-formal education. They also visited Namma Angadi where rural handicrafts are marketed to support rural artisans. A total number of 48 students participated in this exposure visit.
