 Tittle of the Programme: An exposure visit to Harekala Village

On 10th November 2022 the final year Rural Development students had an exposure visit to Harekala village. The students had the opportunity to meet Mr.Hasabba who was an orange fruit seller, with his good will and hard work started a school in the village. It was so amazing to see the huge number of awards that he received. The students were inspired by his humility and simplicity of life. He shared with the students the inspiration behind his work and the constant support he received from various people. Then the students were taken to Harekala Panchayat, where they had an opportunity to interact with the Panchayat President and PDO. They gave a very good orientation on the functioning and role of Panchayat in rural development. After that they visited Sulochana estate. The students enjoyed hospitality of family of Mr.Mahabala Hegde and astonished to visit the traditional heritage house ’Guthu mane’ with 35 rooms. The exposure visit gave them an experiential knowledge and insights to life. The students were entering into a meaningful discussion and gained insights in to social responsibility related dimension.
