BSW Department School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya Mangalore in collaboration with Dharmajyothi Vamanjoor, Primary Health Care Centre, Neermarga and Navachethana High School Neermarga organised an Awareness Programme on Substance Use. This program took place on Friday, 27th October 2023 at Navachethana School Hall Neermarga. The program commenced with a warm welcome from Ms. Satyasheela, Principal of Navachethana High School, Neermarga. Mr. Alwes Stephen, Final year BSW student, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore introduced the Resource Persons for the session, Ms. Chelsea D’Souza and Ms. Lizele Ornita Dsouza. Both are the Trainees, pursuing their Final year MSc in Counselling at the School of Social work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. They shared valuable insights on the causes, symptoms, and potential solutions related to substance use. The audience had the opportunity to have their doubts and questions addressed during the session.
An impressive turnout of 150 High school students actively participated in this informative awareness session. The organization of this event was led by the Final year BSW students Ms. Ancita Teresa Crasta and Mr. Alwes Stephen under the guidance of Mrs. Veena B. K, Field Work Supervisor, BSW Department, School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
Mrs. Renita DSouza from Dharmajyothi Vamanjoor graced the event with her presence, and the session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Ancita Teresa Crasta, Final year BSW student.
