The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized the Third Annual Meet of Forensic Alumni Association-Roshni, Mangaluru (FAARM) on Saturday, 20th April 2024 at 9.30 am in Maria Paiva Hall of the Institution. The main objective of the meet was to interact with the current batch students and share their job experiences, to plan the activities of next academic year, to appoint new office bearers of FAARM and to describe their role and responsibilities.
The program began with a prayer song invoking God's blessings. Further, alumni’s introduced themselves one by one to the current batch students. Mr. Vajagathali M, Assistant Professor of Research, The Department of Forensic Science at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management, who is also an alumnus of the institution, conducted a session on ‘Higher Education and Job Opportunities Abroad’. He explained about the job opportunities in overseas in the field of Forensic Science, procedures to be followed and the qualifications needed to apply. Students openly clarified their queries and requested to share the information regarding the vacancies if any.
Simultaneously, meeting was held with other alumni in the boardroom of the college led by Dr. Saritha D’Souza, Head, Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science. The meeting focused on the registration of the FAARM, discussions about the managing committee, its tenure, roles and responsibilities. Further, requested to put forth the ideas to conduct various programmes in collaboration with the department. It was decided to organize series of Guest Lectures by Alumni in their specialized field for the current batch students. Thereafter, ice-breaking activities were conducted for the alumni as well as the current batch students.
Students and alumni expressed their satisfaction for giving an opportunity to interact and expressed that home coming is a memorable event to cherish the days spent in the campus. Altogether, 4 faculties, 16 FAARM members and 33 students were present during the event. Ms. Nashwa Iqbal., second year student of MSc CFS compered the whole event.
