The SAHAYOG Forum -BSW Department School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Mangalore in collaboration with Dharmajyothi Social Centre Vamanjoor, Mangalore organised a programme on “Financial Employment Opportunities for Women” on 24 February, 2024.
The event featured two esteemed speakers: Mr. David, a postal officer, who enlightened the audience about postal schemes and savings opportunities; and Mr. Roshan Rocco, a representative from Big Bag Company, who presented various employment opportunities available at the company's Ganjimatt Gurpur, Mangalore location, which caters to providing occupational opportunities for women in the community.
The program was attended by over 80 women, including members from Self Help Groups, Sr. Joyal, and Mrs. Renita from Dharma Jyothi Social Centre. The event was successfully organized by Ms. Ancita Teresa Crasta and Mr. Alwes Stephen, final-year BSW students, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Veena B. K, Field Work Supervisor, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
This program aimed to empower women by providing them with knowledge and access to financial employment opportunities, promoting economic independence and self-sufficiency. The collaborative effort demonstrated the commitment of the participating institutions to promoting women's empowerment and community development.
