The SAHAYOG Forum- BSW Department and IQAC of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore organized a workshop on Enhancing Field Work Practice through Peer Engagement on August 2, 2024. The workshop aimed to enhance Field Work Practice through Peer Engagement, Collaborative Learning, and Innovative Strategies, with a focus on improving teamwork, communication and problem solving skills.

Forty three BSW students (14 First Year and 29 Second Year) participated in the workshop, facilitated by Final year BSW Students Mr. Alex J. Pulluvelil, Ms. Khathija Mehtha, Ms. Spoorthi Govind Hegde, Ms. Teresa Rose Santosh, and Mr. Thomas Mathew. The participants engaged in group discussions, brainstorming, and sharing ideas on improving fieldwork practices, with each group presenting their insights.

The workshop featured interactive games designed to improve teamwork and mutual understanding, fostering better communication, collaboration, and appreciation of diverse perspectives. Through these activities, participants developed practical skills, formed meaningful connections, and gained valuable insights. The workshop was precisely organised under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Veena B K, Head of the BSW Department, and support from Asst. Prof. Anusuya Kamath, Asst. Prof. Colin D'Souza, and Asst. Prof. Deepika Sanil.

The workshop successfully combined enjoyment with learning, leaving participants with actionable ideas and a renewed focus on innovative approaches to fieldwork. As participants return to their field work placements, they will carry with them the knowledge, confidence, and creativity to navigate challenges and make a positive impact.
