The SAHAYOG Forum- BSW Department, organized an exposure visit to Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (MCF) on August 19, 2024 for 33 students, comprising 18 final-year BSW students enrolled in the Environmental Social Work course and 15 second-year BA students taking the open elective course in Disaster Management. The group was accompanied by Mrs. Deepika Sanil, Assistant Professor, BSW Department, and Mr. Sandeep Ullal, Physical Director, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya.
The visit began with an introductory session where participants were briefed on the history and operations of MCF. This session provided an overview of the company's establishment, the number of treatment plants within the facility, and the various initiatives undertaken by MCF, including their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects. The session was facilitated by Mr. Roshan Kumar from the HR department, along with Mr. Deekshit, Assistant HR, and Mrs. Jasinta D'Souza, also from the HR department.
An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing students to engage with the facilitators, ask questions, and share their insights. The session was highly appreciated by the participants, who found it informative and well-organized. Student feedback indicated that the visit offered significant learning opportunities and deepened their understanding of the subject matter. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Teresa Rose Santosh, a final-year BSW student.
