The SAHAYOG Forum- BSW Department, organized an exposure visit for II BA 22 students who have taken Open Electives on Contemporary Social Problems and Concerns, to ‘Snehalaya’ Charitable Trust, Pavoor, Manjeshwar. The students were accompanied by Prof. Colin D’Souza BSW Department School of Social Work, Nilaya, Mangalore.

Students received an introduction through a presentation by Mr. Clint, Psychiatric Social Worker. The students had the opportunity to visit various units, including those focused on women's issues, old age, and psychiatry. The atmospheres at the institution were one of compassion and care, creating a profound impact on the students. They were happy to interact with the residents of ‘Snehalaya’, understanding their challenges and aspirations. These interactions, fostered empathy, respect, and a deeper appreciation for the lives of others.

The visit offered glimpse into the world of selfless as they observed the tireless efforts of the ‘Snehalaya’ staff in providing care and support to the residents. It ignited a sense of social responsibility among the students, inspiring to contribute positively to society.

The exposure visit to Snehalaya was a transformative experience. It broadened the students’ perspectives, and cultivated a compassionate heart. The students returned with commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.
