On July 8th, at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, hosted an enlightening program titled “Expressing Yourself Right.” This session was led by Mrs. Sonal Poojari, guest lecturer from the Psychology department, and aimed to teach students the importance and techniques of effectively expressing emotions.

The event targeted 3rd-year BA and BSW students, whose enthusiastic participation highlighted the topic's relevance to their academic and personal lives. Mrs. Poojari focused on key emotions and shared strategies for their effective expression. She stressed the importance of sharing joyful moments and practicing gratitude to enhance well-being. The session included techniques for acknowledging and confronting fears instead of suppressing them, fostering a healthier emotional state. Mrs. Poojari discussed transforming envy into motivation for personal growth and managing anger constructively to prevent harm to oneself or others. She also highlighted the significance of understanding the root causes of jealousy and addressing them through self-reflection and communication.

The interactive session allowed students to practice expressing their emotions in a supportive environment, enhanced by reflective exercises. The program concluded with a Q&A session, providing students with further clarity and guidance on emotional expression. Positive feedback from participants underscored the session's effectiveness and Mrs. Sonal Poojari's expertise in emotional intelligence.48 students participated in the session.

The “Expressing Yourself Right” program equipped students with valuable skills for navigating their emotional landscapes effectively.
