On August 13th, 2024, the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, witnessed a day of vibrant celebration, marking the inauguration of the Student Council for 2024-25 and the joyous occasion of Freshers’ Day. The events, filled with unity and reverence, took place in the college auditorium.
The Inauguration of the Student Council began with an invocation, seeking the blessings of the Almighty. Following this, the dignitaries were escorted to the stage. Navya K., the newly elected President of the Student Council, warmly welcomed the faculty members, highlighting their crucial role in shaping the minds of the students.
The formal Inauguration of the Student Council was symbolized by the lighting of the lamp, led by Dr. Sandra Sunitha Lobo, Dean of the UG Department, and Associate Professor Cecilia Farida Goveas, Controller of Examinations, along with the newly elected cabinet members.
Associate Professor Cecilia Farida Goveas delivered the presidential address, offering words of wisdom that resonated with the audience. She spoke about the essence of being human, the importance of mutual support within the campus community, and the significance of knowledge and wisdom. Her insightful address served as a reminder of the values that unite the institution.
The ceremony continued with the conferring of badges to the newly elected members of the Student Council. Associate Professor Cecilia Farida Goveas presented the badges to the following cabinet members:
