IQAC, NSS unit, Physical Education and SC/ST Cell of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya commemorated the 78th Independence Day celebration began with the host, Ms. Ifra Ayesha, setting a patriotic tone by quoting Jawaharlal Nehru's iconic "Tryst with Destiny" speech, emphasizing the significance of this historic occasion. The event proceeded with a prayer led by the college choir, invoking blessings for the nation's prosperity. Sister Anisha then delivered a heartfelt welcome speech, warmly greeting the gathering and setting a positive tone for the day's events. The highlight of the ceremony was the flag hoisting, where the national flag was unfurled by the chief guest, Prof. Latha A. Pandit, a respected retired Professor of political science from University College, Mangalore.
This solemn moment was followed by a speech from Ms. Anushree, IIIrd Year BA student, who passionately spoke about India's progress and the challenges ahead. The students of then performed the national song, "Vande Mataram," filling the atmosphere with a sense of pride and unity. Sister Priya introduced the chief guest, providing a brief overview of Prof. Lalitha A. Pandit's distinguished career and contributions to the field of political science. Prof. Latha A Pandit then addressed the gathering, delivering an inspiring speech that reflected on the nation’s journey since independence and encouraged everyone to continue working towards a brighter future. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Afreen, Academic Secretary, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, participants, and organizers.
