An extension program was conducted by the Department of MSc Counselling, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore. The session, focusing on emotional regulation, took place at the Association of People with Disability, Ullal, Mangalore. Nine second-year MSc Counselling students facilitated the session on October 10th, 2024, from 11 pm to 12 pm, with 15 members participating.

The session's objective was to foster the need of emotional regulation in stressful situations at work place and to teach members coping strategies in a challenging situation. It began with an icebreaker activity to foster group cohesion, followed by guidelines on confidentiality, mutual respect, and expectations.

Through simple exercise of recognising the emotions they are feeling at the moment and getting knowing the different emotions the members are aware of.they were taught the five senses grounding activity which can be used to regulate their emotions. They were also given other ways that they can practice to regulate emotions.
