On August 21, 2024, the Forum for Sustainable Development, PG Department of Social Work in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a thematic presentation titled ‘Urja Vikas’ in Maria Paiva Hall. The event, which commenced at 3:15 PM, was a part of the celebrations to commemorate World Renewable Energy Day on August 22, 2024. The program saw active participation from approximately 200 students across all three PG programs, emphasizing the importance of renewable energy and its sustainable promotion.

Neil Miranda, Student Convenor, FSD and Gladson Aranha, I MSW student, delivered an insightful presentation, raising awareness about renewable energy's critical role in sustainable development. Adding a creative dimension to the program, the students of the Forum performed a mime show, which effectively highlighted the significance of renewable energy and practical ways to conserve it in our daily lives. This performance was a powerful reminder of the urgent need to adopt renewable energy practices. The event also featured an engaging puzzle activity facilitated by Joslin Siddhi and Sr. Preethi, which encouraged fellow learners to think critically about renewable energy concepts. Following this, Pranavi conducted a feedback session, allowing participants to share their reflections on the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks rendered by Kiran, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The thematic presentation on 'Urja Vikas' was a resounding success, leaving the participants with a heightened awareness of renewable energy's vital role in ensuring a sustainable future.
