As a part of Forensis Forum Activity, the Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organised a ‘Cognitive Skill Enhancement Activity’ for the first year and second year students of the department on 21st April 2023 at 3.30pm in the PG Department of CFS. The main purpose of this activity was to enhance the cognitive skills of students that includes enhancing memory power, writing speed, their perception and reasoning skills.
The students were divided into 4 groups involving both first years and second years equally. The activity consisted of four rounds which included speed test in which two students from each group were made to write a paragraph, the group which completes within first was declared as the winner for the round. The next round consisted of a memory test where the students had to remember the pictures in order. Further, the perception test was performed wherein the students had to observe the images and answer the questions. The final round was reasoning test where questions related to relationships were displayed and the students had to answer. The group with the lowest marks in each round was eliminated. In case of equal marks between the two groups, a tie breaker question was asked to declare the winners.
The first place was won by Group No-3 and was appreciated for the participation. The activity concluded successfully at 4.30pm. The activity was held under the guidance of Dr. Saritha D’Souza Head of the Department and Mr. Niketh PS, Faculty Co-ordinator of Forensis Forum. The office bearers of Forensis Forum Ms. Aarathi Matcha, President, Ms. Likitha, Secretory, Ms. Santhi Anusha, Treasurer, Ms. Nisha D’Souza, Class Representative of Questioned Document and Impression Evidences and Ms. Siri Kamath, Class Representative of Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice had taken initiative to conduct the activity. The students expressed that the activity helped them to relax, think, act and learn. Altogether, 41 students and 4 faculties were part of this event.
