The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized a guest lecture for the second year students of MSc CFS Questioned Documents and Impression Evidences on the topic ‘Biometric fusion: Security Enhancement and Operational Strategies’ held on 15th March 2024 at 2:30pm in the department. The resource person was Dr. Devaseelan S., Assistant Professor, Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, Srinivas University, Mukka, Surathkal, Mangaluru cum Managing Director, SRL Trinity Vision, Mangaluru and also an alumnus of the department.
The main objective of the session was to understand the concept of biometric fusion and its role in enhancing security measures. Mr. Devaseelan began with explaining the evolution of biometrics, defining it as the utilization of biological features for identification and access control to ensure integrity, availability, and confidentiality.
Students expressed that the session was an effective and informative. They could get to know the application of biometrics in Forensic. The session concluded at 3.30pm. Altogether, 10 students were present during the session. Ms. Jyothsna, Second year student cum media coordinator of the department compiled the report.
