The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized an online guest lecture for the second year MSc Criminology and Forensic Science students of Questioned Document and Impression evidences specialization on “Techniques of Photographing of Questioned Documents” on 27th April 2024 at 10.00 am. Mr. Balajinarayan B, Junior Analyst, Forensic Science Laboratory, Pondicherry was the resource person. The main objective of the session was to interact with the junior analyst to learn about cases handled on disputed documents, techniques of its photography, and procedure of expert opinion.
Ms. Athira V J, Assistant Professor of the Department introduced the resource person. After taking over the session, Mr. Balajinarayan discussed about various aspects of photography of various types of documents. Furthermore, he spoke about the software that can be used to compare the signature and handwriting samples. He explained about the procedure of handling and taking the images of different documents for the purpose of comparison and analysis.
The students expressed that the session was informative and could interact with junior analyst who has handed the cases of disputed documents. The session concluded at 11.30 am with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Shresta Mendon, second year student of the department. Altogether, 10 students and 2 faculties were present during the session.
