LIT Meet Events

The English department under Lit-Meet conducted a seminar on the scope and career opportunities in the field of English Language and Literature for the students. The program was organised by Prof. Shobana Former HOD of English Department, Asst. Prof. Vandana Dsouza, HOD of English and Asst. Prof. Vineeta Pereira from the department of English.

The session began at 9:45 a.m on the 19th November 2021. The resource person for this programme was Ms.Aishwarya M R a former alumni of School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya currently working as a team coordinator and training specialist in Mediamint. Ms. Hebah welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person and the former HOD of the English Department; Ms. Shobana Manohar addressed the gathering after which the resource person spoke to the students about her experience in the school of social work Roshni Nilaya and the various opportunities in the field of literature. She spoke about different career options we have such as content writing, editing , communication and translation and digital marketing . She quoted that the “field of literature has an ocean of opportunities”. She emphasized the importance of phonetics in English. She conducted an activity and the seminar ended with a session of interaction where students asked their queries. Ms. Akshaya proposed the vote of thanks and the session concluded with the felicitation of the speaker.
