On Friday 24 November 2023, the BSW Department of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya organized a meaningful event to observe Minority Welfare Day. The event unfolded from 11.45 am to 12.45 pm was skillfully hosted by Shravin, who served as the Master of Ceremony for the occasion.

Assoc. Prof. Vineetha K, the HOD of BSW Department and the Registrar (Evaluation) of the College, introduced the significance of the day, topic of the day as well as the distinguished Resource person Mr Abdul Khadar Navoor. Her introduction highlighted significance of the day and Mr Khadar’ s exemplary commitment to Minority welfare and his significant role in fostering inclusivity within communities.
Mr Abdul Khadar delivered an impactful address focusing on various Government Schemes aimed at uplifting Minority Communities to a higher level of education and from Poverty to Self- reliance.
Question and Answer session followed by Mr Khadar’ s address encouraged attendees to seek further insights and clarification on the topic. Sanketh from Second BSW was instrumental in motivating the participants to clarify their doubts.
Nivya Alphonsa from First BSW proposed the Vote of thanks. One hundred and fifty six students from BA/ BSW Department were present for the Programme. Asst Prof. Veena, Co- Ordinator of Sahayog Forum handed over the memento to the resource person. Asst. Prof. Anusuya from BSW Department and few other Faculty from the BA Department were present for the Programme.
