Exposure visit to Post office and Jaya offset Printers
The Department of Secretarial Practice, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya Mangalore organised an exposure visit to Head Post Office and Jaya Offset Printers, Pandeshwar, Mangalore on 17th September 2022. There were 22 students of I BA & III BA along with 3 faculties. The purpose of this visit is to learn about its working phenomenon and develop the sense of experience.
Head Post Office:
We were greeted by Mr. Shankar, Public Relation Inspector. It is one of the oldest Post Office functioning with 32 postman’s .He took us around various departments and explained about the function of following departments:
- Core Service –Postal schemes
- Nodal Delivery Centre – Sorting of letters based on address and beat numbers
- Registered and Speed Post – Explain about term and conditions related to parcels and National Sorting Hub (NSH)
- Philately Bureau- Displayed various postal stamps, my stamps and postal cards.
- ATM services – ATM cards including nationalized banks are accepted.
Jaya offset Printers:
We were welcomed and guided by Dr. Ethihas Suvarna, Proprietor. This printing press is the suppliers of text books, Stationery, Forms and Registers of Nationalized banks, MESCOM and KPT. The three stages of Printing:
- Pre-Press stage –were concerned parties approve the designs
- Press Stage –were selection and trimming of papers.
- Post –Press stage – it involve the binding.
An Exposure visit to Head post office and Jaya offset Printers was a knowledgeable experience. Students of IIIBA Ms. Shravya and Ms. Afra rendered the Vote of thanks and faculties offered a plant as token of gratitude.
