A Workshop on Family Life Education for the Final year BSW Students was organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day by IQAC and the BSW Department on 8th March 2023. The resource person, Advocate Rushila Rebello, a multifaceted person from Mumbai led the workshop.
The workshop began with an invocation by the students, Asst. Prof. Veena B. K. welcomed Adv. Rushila Rebello and Asst. Prof. Anusuya Kamath introduced the resource person Rushila Rebello to the students. The session was then taken over by the resource person who caught the attention of the students with interesting concepts and group activity called body mapping. There was active participation by the students who presented the changes in the body that focused on four different elements such as Pain, Pleasure, Power and Shame.
A documentary video was screened that concentrated on awareness about sexuality. An explanation on marital life and single hood was put forth wherein the resource person shared her experience and cases handled by her as an advocate.
The session came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Anushka K. J. a student from the final year of BSW. A total of 30 students participated in the workshop.
