On 19th September 2024, the SAHAYOG Forum of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Department,School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, organized an Extension Service Programme titled "Environmental Education " for approximately 40 children studying at Government higher Primary School Bolar. Mr. Joyal, a dedicated SCJ community member, delivered an engaging presentation to classes 5th-7th, shedding light on pressing pollution issues, climate change consequences, and responsible waste management. He emphasized reducing, reusing, and recycling, and encouraged eco-friendly habits. An interactive Q&A session clarified doubts, fostering deeper understanding. The program culminated in a student pledge to reduce personal waste and protect the environment, marking a significant mindset shift.
The event was coordinated by Ms Ashna Elizabath Ben 2nd BSW, Haifa 1st BSW, under the supervision of Field Supervisor Dr. Sophia Fernandes, Principal at the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
