FDP on Quality Initiatives for Educational Excellence on Tuesday June 2nd 2022 in the Board Room

An FDP was organized for the faculty of the institution on quality initiatives in educational excellence on Tuesday June 2nd 2022 at 8:45 am. Dr. Ordetta Hanna Mendoza, former head, Department of Bioinformatics, Stella Maris College (Autonomous), Chennai and at present the coordinator of programmes, Xavier Board of Higher Education in India, Bangalore, was the resource person of the session.

The session began with the welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Juliet C.J. The IQAC coordinator Assoc. Prof. Cecilia F Goveas introduced the chief guest.

Dr. Ordetta began her session with her journey as a teacher in an autonomous college. She stressed on the importance of having committees on planning, evaluation and examination for the effective functioning of an institution. She mentioned that every institution needs to have induction for its new recruits in order to know the ethos, rules of the institution including code of conduct, rules with respect to appointment, probation, leave and dismissal. She also mentioned that prior to the commencement of the academic year an orientation programme for all the faculty members to chalk out various activities, programmes and there by assign the roles and responsibilities to be organized. Faculty Development Programmes on various aspects to be the annual feature of an institution was stated. She further mentioned that digitization of examination process from entry to exit is necessary andreiterated the integrity of the faculty members as an important aspect of an institution.
