On 22nd March 2025, Mr. Sudhanva, a student of 1st-year BA Criminology, conducted an insightful session on competitive exams and career opportunities, specifically tailored for BA Criminology students. Drawing from his own learning experiences, he emphasized the importance of starting early, as intelligence and cognitive abilities are sharper at a younger age. He suggested that students consider beginning their careers with entry-level positions, such as constable roles, and gradually work their way up through promotions over time.
Mr. Sudhanva also highlighted the challenges associated with securing state government jobs, primarily due to language requirements, while noting that central government positions are relatively easier to obtain. He encouraged students to attempt competitive exams multiple times, stressing that success on the first attempt is not always necessary. Instead, he emphasized the importance of learning from mistakes and improving with each attempt.
Furthermore, he provided insights into career opportunities within agencies such as the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), forensic sciences, and investigative roles. He explained that the NIA examination process involves multiple stages, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 assessments.
To stay well-prepared, he advised students to keep themselves updated with current affairs through WhatsApp or Telegram groups. Additionally, he addressed the increasing interest in entrepreneurship, cautioning that many individuals aspire to start a business without understanding its fundamental principles. He encouraged students to use this time to gain knowledge and plan strategically for the future.
In conclusion, Mr. Sudhanva reminded students to balance their time wisely—enjoying the present while also investing in their future. The session, conducted by a fellow BA Criminology student, provided valuable guidance and offered a clearer perspective on career planning, leaving students motivated and better informed about their options.
