An intercollegiate Lit fest 'Gitanjali' was organised by St Agnes Degree college on the 6th of September 2019.
It was a literature fest to commemorate 157 years of Rabindranath Tagore. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr Ammalu Kutty who is a retired professor of English from the university of Mangalore.
The students of School of Social Work,Roshni Nilaya participated in various events that were conducted, such as paper presentation, sketching, recitation and group singing.
Ms Shravya from 3rd BA bagged the first place in paper presentation.Her paper was titled 'Understanding Devotion through the writings of Rabindranath Tagore' which was an attempt by the author to understand what faith and devotion were to Tagore. For this purpose, the author tried to unravel 4 poems from Gitanjali (Songs of offering). The presentation was followed by a few minutes of question and answer round.
Carol Fernandez from 2nd BA won the second place in recitation.
