The NSS unit of the college celebrated Gandhi Jayanti as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign, emphasizing the values of cleanliness and respect for the environment that Mahatma Gandhi championed on October 2, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the college campus.
The event began with a floral tribute to the photograph of Mahatma Gandhi, paying homage to his contributions toward freedom and his principles of non-violence and social responsibility.
Ms. Perpetua Machado, the warden of Roshni Nilaya Girls’ Hostel, served as the resource person for the event. Her words inspired the students to continue Gandhi’s legacy by taking active steps towards cleanliness and social responsibility.
The master of the ceremony of the program was Malavika of II BA, who gracefully handled the proceedings. Riya from I BSW delivered the welcome speech, warmly greeting the audience and setting the tone for the event. This was followed by Suraksha from II BSW, who led the Swachhata oath, encouraging everyone to commit to cleanliness in their daily lives. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Elfreeda of I BSW, who expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the event meaningful.
The Gandhi Jayanti program served as a reminder of the importance of maintaining cleanliness and sustainability as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and united India. 40 Volunteers participated.
