On July 12, 2024, the SAHAYOG Forum, BSW Department, and IQAC cell of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, organized a workshop titled "From Classroom to Community: A Practitioner's Insight" for 31 final-year BSW students in A3 room at 9:30am. The workshop began with prayer. Asst. Prof. Deepika Sanil introduced the resource person Mrs. Reena D'Souza, Office Manager at PADI Mangalore.

The workshop aimed to provide students with practical insights and skills for effective community engagement and Social Work practice. Key topics included building rapport with the community, identifying and utilizing community resources, and interactive activities to reinforce theoretical knowledge. Participants found the session highly informative and motivating.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session and a vote of thanks by Ms. Khathija Mehtha, a final-year BSW student. The program was organized under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Veena B K, HOD of the BSW department, with Asst. Prof. Anusuya Kamath and Asst. Prof. Colin D'Souza was present.

This workshop effectively bridged the gap between classroom learning and community practice, equipping final-year BSW students with essential knowledge and skills for their future roles as Social Workers.
