School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya Mangaluru, Internal Quality Assurance Level Organized regional level faculty development programme on Transforming Classroom Practice: Strategies for Effective Teaching & Learning on 11 January 2025. The objective of the section was to equip teachers with effective teaching techniques. The session was facilitated by Prof. Joselyn Lobo, Trainer, Dean and professor in social work (Retd). The session began with Ms Jinsa leading the prayer song followed by Ms Veena BK welcoming the gathering. Dr Prashanth Bhat introduced the resource person to the participants.

Prof. Joselyn Lobo through his innovative facilitative methods highlighted on importance of involvement of students in teaching learning process. He stressed on evolving perspectives in education, four C’s of communication was explored through exercises importance of implementing VAK (Visual Auditory Kinesthetic) model. Various teaching techniques focusing on learner centered education was explored and discussed during the FDP.

Sixty five participants from thirteen institutions across Dakshina Kannada participated in the FDP. Associate Prof Cecilia Goveas, controller of examination, Dr Sandra S Lobo, Dean UG studies, Dr Meena Monteiro, Dean PG studies, Dr Saritha D’Souza and Dr Rosa N Mathew IQAC coordinators were the other dignitaries present. Ms Nashwa Iqbal delivered the vote of thanks and the session was emceed by Ms Akshaya.
