On July 19, 2024, the BSW Department- SAHAYOG Forum and IQAC of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, organised a Peer-Led Workshop on Craft Making for 24 Second Year BSW students in the A1 room, Social Work Block held at 1:30pm.

The workshop aimed at equipping students with practical craft-making skills that could be applied in their Field Work practice in School Settings, thereby enhancing their creative and pedagogical techniques.

The workshop was facilitated by a team of dedicated peers: Sr. Asha Kachap, Sr. Divya Jyothi Lobo, Sr. Kishori Minz, Sr. Priya Veronica D'Souza, and Sr. Sabina Kandulna. Their expertise and guidance were instrumental in providing students with hands-on experience in various craft and paper cutting techniques.

The session was further enriched by the presence of esteemed faculty members, including Mrs. Veena B. K, Head of the BSW Department, along with Mrs. Anusuya Kamath, Ms. Colin D'Souza, and Mrs. Deepika Sanil from the BSW Department. Their participation added significant value to the workshop and demonstrated the strong support and engagement of the faculty in enhancing the students' learning experience.

Throughout the workshop, students actively participated in crafting activities, which fostered not only creativity but also patience, precision, and attention to detail. The workshop provided an interactive and enjoyable platform for students to collaborate, share ideas, and build a sense of community.

Feedback from participants was highly positive, with students expressing enthusiasm about the new skills they acquired and their potential application in future endeavours. The workshop emphasized the importance of integrating creative techniques into teaching methods, aiming to make learning more interactive and engaging for children in their Field Work.

The success of this workshop highlights the value of practical, skill-based training within the BSW curriculum and reflects the commitment of the faculty and facilitators to providing enriching educational experiences that contribute to the holistic development of students.
