On July 18, 2024, the BSW Department- SAHAYOG Forum, and IQAC of School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, organized a transformative workshop titled "Art of Stress Management" for 15 First year BSW students. The workshop aimed to empower students with effective strategies to manage and cope with stress, promoting overall well-being and resilience.
The workshop commenced with a warm welcome and introduction of the resource persons, Ms. Nayomi Riona Moras and Ms. Shwethal Adyar, Counsellors from the Family Service Agency, Roshni Nilaya by Ms. Anjana P K, Final year BSW student. The session began with an engaging icebreaker activity, expertly designed to help students relax and connect with each other. The resource persons then delved into stress management techniques and coping strategies, exploring various types of psychological stressors and their impacts. The session incorporated fun activities to illustrate stress management techniques, making the learning experience engaging and interactive. After a short break, the session resumed with a discussion on the warning signs of stress, equipping students with essential knowledge to recognize and address stress in their lives. The workshop concluded with a guided imagery exercise, providing students with a practical tool for stress reduction. An interactive Q&A session followed, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences. The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, indicating that the workshop was well-received and beneficial.
The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Tanvi M, Final year BSW student. The workshop was meticulously organized under the leadership of Asst. Prof. Veena B K, Head of the BSW Department, with Asst. Prof. Anusuya Kamath, Asst. Prof. Colin D'Souza, and Asst. Prof. Deepika Sanil was present.
