Sahayog Events

On September 20, 2024, the SAHAYOG Forum of the Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Department, in collaboration with the MSc Criminology and Forensic Science Department at the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, organized an Extension Service Programme titled "Play, Learn, and Grow." This event was held for 56 migrant children from the Government Higher Primary School in Bolar West, aiming to foster learning through interactive, play-based activities. The session began at 2 p.m. and was led by Miss Aparna S Shetty, a second-year MSc CFS student at the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya. With a focus on integrating play with educational content, the program aimed to support the children’s cognitive, social, and emotional development, encourage creativity, and promote active participation in a safe, nurturing environment.

The program was coordinated by BSW students Ms. Brinelle Fernandes, Ms. Alvisha Dsouza, Mr. Pavan Poojary, and Mr. Rahul R, under the held under the guidance of Field Supervisor Dr. Sophia N. Fernandes, Principal of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore.
