A webinar on Practical Aspects of Conducting a survey on Child Labour was organised by the Sociology Economics Froum with IQAC and INCHARA Foundation on 29.01.2022. The resource person for the webinar was Ms. Prarthana, Outreach Programme Co ordinator, Inchara Foundation. This session was organised as part of training the students for conducting child Labour survey in Mangalore city for the labour department with the help of INCHARA foundation. The session began with Ms. Cecilia F Goveas head of the department of economics introducing the resource person to the students. Ms. Prarthana the resouce person for the websinr started her session with asking the students about their understanding of child labour. After this she went on to explain to the students what is child labour according to law and generally under what circumstances children get into child labour. She also gave knowledge to the students about how to identify the child labourers and also what to do in case they found a child labourer during the survey. She also taught the students how to fill the survey forms provided by the labour department when they go for the survey and also the do's and don'ts to be followed when doing the survey. The students clarified their doubts with the resource person about conducting the survey. The session ended with Dr. Kiran Prasad B the head of the department of Sociology proposing the vote of thanks. A total of 30 students of the department belonging to II and III BA participated in the webinar.
