The Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science had organized the Second Annual Meet of Forensic Alumni Association-Roshni, Mangaluru (FAARM) on Saturday, 6th May 2023 at 3:00pm in Maria Paiva Hall of the college.
The programme began with an introductory note by Dr. Saritha D’Souza, Head, Post Graduate Department of Criminology and Forensic Science, School of Social Work, Mangaluru. She spoke about the purpose of organizing the general alumni meet of FAARM to plan the next academic year activities, to interact with the current batch students and communicate the job opportunities in the various fields and to relive the memories of college days. Further, there was an interactive session between the alumni and the current batch students of the department. Each alumni and alumnus shared their experience of college days. They spoke about their current job, career opportunities in Government sectors, Private Sectors and the challenges they faced in the field. They suggested students to focus on internships and competitive examinations that would help them to enhance their knowledge. They also advised students to focus on their area of interest and work hard towards it. Lastly, they answered the queries of the current batch students.
Thereafter, a cultural program was organized by the current batch students such as group dances, and singing including the faculties of the department Mr. Roshan D’Souza and Mr. Niketh P.S. FAARM members too joined for the cultural events by singing and dancing. The students expressed satisfaction about the event organized by the department along with the alumni which helped them to build rapport with the alumni and to get insight into the career opportunities in various fields of Criminology and Forensic Science. Mr. Pradeep Lloyd Martis, Secretary of FAARM, Mr. Joel Joseph and Ms. J. Shravya, Executive members along with 16 other alumni were present for the programme. Altogether, 4 faculties, 19 FAARM members and 40 students were present during the event. Ms. Nandita N., Second year student of MSc Criminology and Forensic Science compared the whole event. The program concluded at 6pm with a vote of thanks and a group photo.
