Retreats & Reflections News“The almighty touches in a way which no one else can….” The two day’s retreat for the catholic students at School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, was an enriching and wonderful experience of God’s liberating word. Fr. Franklin D’souza, led the retreat and enriched the gathering with the word of God. The retreat commenced with the AICUF inaugural for the year 2022-2023 in the presence of Fr. Franklin Dsouza, Dr. Juliet C. J., Principal, Ms. Vandana Dsouza, AICUF coordinator, AICUF council members, the staff and students. Ms. Joan Bobby Mamman, a student of II B.A. hosted the event. The gathering was welcomed by the newly elected AICUF president Ms. Favia Furtado, II B.A. Ms. Vandana Dsouza welcomed Fr. Franklin and the gathering. This was followed by an insightful message by Fr. Franklin. Dr. Juliet C.J., Principal, also addressed on the occasion. The day progressed with the praise and worship led by Mr. Brian and team, Jesus Youth, Mangalore. Fr. Franklin then enlightened the audience on the “power of the word of god”. This was followed by the Holy Eucharist and a homily on “Jesus is the saviour and love of god.”
The session in the noon began with praise and worship. Mrs. Corrine Rasquinha, shared the word of god and her testimony. A healing adoration followed after the praise and worship. Fr. Franklin explained the importance of reconciliation and healing. He then blessed the gathering with the prayer of healing. The retreat concluded at 4.30 P.M. On 24th September, Saturday, the morning was ignited with praise and worship led by Dr. Sooraj Noronha and the Jesus Youth team. Fr. Franklin spoke on “Repentance”. He prepared the gathering for a good confession. There were eight priests who helped the students by offering their confessional service. Meanwhile the adoration was led by Dr. Sooraj Noronha which was followed by the healing service. Post lunch the retreat began again with praise and worship. A talk on “Forgiveness Brings Healing”, was delivered by Fr. Franklin followed by the Holy Eucharist with a homily on “Holy spirit –the gift of God”. Fr. Franklin then led the anointing session and prayed over the gathering. The retreat concluded by Dr. Juliet C. J., Principal, expressing gratitude to Fr. Franklin and the Jesus Youth team. Ms. Shalma Rodrigues from II BSW also expressed gratitude on the occasion.
